Scottish Midland Junction Railway
From Railways
The Scottish Midland Junction Railway was opened in 1848 having been authorised in 1845.
Its act of incorporation gave it powers to buy the Newtyle and Coupar Angus Railway and Newtyle and Glammis Railway (note spelling !) which it duly did in the same year as its act.
It lost its independance in 1856 when it and the Aberdeen Railway merged to form the Scottish North Eastern Railway.
